More information
CT Type: Solid-Core
Max. Amperage: 100 amps
Inside Diameter: 7mm or 0.27 inches
Outside Diameter: 24 mm or 0.95 inches
Thickness: 12mm or 0.47 inches
Model: BCT-007-100UL
Certifications: CE, approved by UL for use with our UL Listed Omnimeters
Wire Gauge: For use on wire that is 10 AWG or smaller.
It is best to measure your wire diameter in millimeters, rather than use the AWG gauge. This is because the insulation thickness varies materially from one wire manufacturer to the next. It is much better to oversize your CT than to undersize it.
Our 7mm Solid Core CT is both economical and very popular with our customers. It is very compact and can measure the current of the majority of residential systems. These CTs are designed to be used in conjunction with our Omnimeter line of kWh meters.
These CTs are extremely accurate down to a few watts. They have 3759 internal turns, creating a 26.6 mA output at full amperage. They are also exceedingly precise at 0.1% accurate. Use these CTs for any system from under 1/4 amp to 100 amps.
- Use 1 CT for 120 volt single phase North American, or 230 volt 2-wire foreign systems
- Use 2 CTs for 120/240 volt single phase systems
- Use 2 CTs for 3-phase 3-wire systems (no neutral)
- Use 3 CTs for 3-phase 4-wire systems
Each CT comes with 72 inch wire leads.
These CTs have received UL Approval for use in combination with our UL listed Omnimeters for a complete UL Listed installation.
Each CT has a unique serial number, is individually tested, and indicates the correct orientation of the CT in relation to the load of the electrical system being metered.
These CTs have a very small internal diameter so if you're considering them, be sure that your wire diameter is less that 7mm.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
Can I use this CT with 6 gauge stranded wire? I have a very tight space where these will be installed.
No, I don't think #6 wire will fit in this CT model. #6 wire is usually 8mm in diameter or more. I would recommend using the BCT-013-200 instead. It has a 13mm inside diameter, 36mm outside diameter. So it's also pretty small. The Spec Sheet for that CT model shows it's overall dimensions.

What size wire and type insulation are the leads from the CT?
This CT model has 24 AWG wires with extruded PVC insulation. Our larger CTs have 22 AWG wires, also with extruded PVC insulation.
