Meter Support: v.3 and v.4 Omnimeters

Connections: Ethernet, RS-485, Power

Data: One Minute Interval Meter Data

Model: EKM-Push-Pro

Now supports v.3 and v.4 Omnimeters!

We are proud to introduce an entirely new communication system with unprecedented capabilities and exceptional ease of use. It is designed to work in conjunction with our Omnimeters line of kWh meters, in order to maximize their capabilities and data readability. All you have to do is plug it in! Data is available seamlessly and immediately from our cloud database. The data can be accessed in a number of ways but our favorite is Encompass, which is a free option. All software options, both from EKM and some from 3rd parties, are available in the Push App Store.

The EKM Push Pro is the over-engineered version of the already dependable EKM Push hardware. Both Push versions function identically and, quite honestly, the engineering of the Pro version should be considered overkill for most installations. It has a hardened power supply, opto-isolated RS-485 communications, and reinforced components. If the EKM Push is the industrial solution, then the EKM Push Pro is the space-flight grade solution. The Pro version has been designed for large installations and critical infrastructure where reliability is paramount.

Our intent is to provide our customers with FREE, seamless, and unrestricted access to their meter data in real time. You can use your data in ways that serve you best, whether it be logging for billing purposes, dashboards to track your energy consumption and/or generation, performing energy audits, etc. Again, the Push service is free and intended to give you the most reliable data stream available.

For developers who are interested in working with our Open Push API, please check out our Developer Portal.

The EKM Push Pro Gateway ships with a 12 volt DC power supply with US style socket plug.

Encompass.io is our free online meter management platform for monitoring and managing meters. It is designed specifically for people who are remotely reading their meters via the EKM Push system. This platform can be used to visualize usage on dashboards, visualize cost, monitor trends, group meters, and a lot more. Each meter in Encompass can also be set up to email you PDF and CSV reports that you can use to monitor you meters and/or use for billing. Here is a sample PDF report:

EKM Widget

The EKM Widget offers another option for quickly seeing your meter data online for EKM Push users. It is also easy to save and share your Widget setting once you have it setup how you want. Here is an example:

EKM Dash

The EKM Push system also supports our remote reading, EKM Dash software. Also, if you want to read your Omnimeter on a computer locally, without the EKM Push system, then this software is what you would use. You will also need an EKM Blink USB Converter in order to do so.

Ask a Question
  • Since you are able to daisy-chain the meters to the Push, are there any distance restrictions.

The distance can be quite far without a problem. The string of meters can be on up to 4000 feet of wire.

  • Can I service more that one meter with a push? If so how many?

Yes, you can daisy-chain-connect up to 50 Omnimeters to each EKM Push gateway. You can have virtually unlimited EKM Push gateways all sending data to the same Push account, so all the data is available in the place using the same secure user key.

  • What is the difference between the PUSH and PUSH PRO?

The Push Pro has an opto-isolated RS-485 chip, a hardened power supply, and more robust components. It's is designed to be able to withstand a lightning strike on the RS-485 lines without damaging the Push Pro gateway. Other than that both versions of the Push function identically and both are very reliable. We typically recommend the standard EKM Push unless the data consistency is critical, even in extreme circumstances.
