More information

CT Type: Split-Core

Max. Amperage: 200 amps

Inside Diameter: 15 mm or 0.6 inches

Outside Diameter: 45.5 mm or 1.75 inches

Thickness: 18.5 mm or 0.75 inches

Model: ESCT-015-200UL

Certifications: Approved by UL for use with our UL Listed Omnimeters

Wire Gauge: For use on wire that is 1/0 size or smaller. It is best to measure your wire diameter in millimeters, rather than use the AWG gauge. This is because the insulation thickness varies materially from one wire manufacturer to the next. It is much better to oversize your CT than to undersize it.

These 15mm Split Core CTs are easy to install: simply snap these current transformers around the wires being read. They are very compact and can measure the current used in the majority of residential electrical systems. These CTs are designed to be used in conjunction with our Omnimeter line of electric meters for any load from 1/4 amp to 200 amps.

These CTs are so easy to install you may see an overall savings in reduced labor costs to offset the increased price of the split core format.

These are very compact and economical for their level of accuracy(0.1% which just a few watts). They have 7518 internal turns, creating a 26.6 mA output at max. amperage.

The CTs will fit on up to 400 MCM insulated wires. It is a good idea to measure your wires before selecting a CT model to be sure that they will fit.

  • Use 1 CT for 120 volt single phase North American, or 230 volt 2-wire foreign systems
  • Use 2 CTs for 120/240 volt single phase systems
  • Use 2 CTs for 3-phase 3-wire systems (no neutral)
  • Use 3 CTs for 3-phase 4-wire systems

These CTs are UL and cUL Recognized and are approved for use with our UL listed meters, to be a complete UL Listed meter install.

Each CT has a unique serial number, is individually tested, and indicates the correct orientation of the CT in relation to the load of the electrical system being metered.

A well thought out solution to power management

This compact system worked as advertised right out of the box.
I did have to tell McAfee to get lost, as it thought that this SW was a virus pit.
G-Data likes the software just fine :)
My application is for load shedding. That is, real-time monitoring of the current load on the incoming service lines, with relay control to disconnect loads that are basically optional (e.g. disconnect the EV charger).
Software downloaded easily and immediately began communication with
the meter over a 42' twisted-pair RS-485 link to the Dash software program.
Data export to Excel is straightforward.
I did have to use a Dremel tool to very lightly trim the CT's to fit around the
main lines into the Service Entrance. That said, I definitely appreciate the
compactness of the CT's they use ( mine are CT-200's )
My only complaint at this point is that I cannot arbitrarily set the beginning and ending temporal points for data export. Seems to be all or nothing.
