The Omnimeter Pulse UL v.4 is our most advanced universal smart meter to date, now with the ability to count pulses from up to 3 pulse-output devices, and control 2 external relays. This model is certified to meet (it actually exceeds) ANSI C12.1 and C12.20 standards. It is also UL and cUL Listed. This is truly the one meter to meet all of your metering needs!
This is a revenue-grade universal kWh meter. It can meter systems ranging from single-phase 120V 2-wire, single-phase 120/240V 3-wire, 3-phase 3-wire 120 to 240 volts, or 3-phase 4-wire 120 to 240V. 50/60Hz. It Supports CTs from 100A to 5000A. This meter will work with any system that is commonly used in the world. Accurate to 0.5% (Class 0.5)
This meter has been designed to meet California's 2013 Title 24 (page 151) requirements for energy management and service metering (Section 130.5A). Depending on the service, these requirements can include – Instantaneous kW demand, resettable kWh, historical peak demand, and kWh per rate period; all of which are provided by this meter.
The v.4 Omnimeters can also count the pulses from up to 3 different pulse output devices, as is explained in this video. These could be pulses from our Pulse Output Water and Gas Meters or from any other un-powered dry contact pulse output device. The real-time state of the three Inputs can also be polled remotely by our EKM Push3 gateway. The Omnimeter data will return a High or Low state for each pin in real-time (use this for sensing switch states, open or closed doors, etc).
The v.4 Omnimeters also include 2x controllable relay outputs. These can be controlled via RS-485, either locally via our EKM Dash software, or remotely online via our Push3 gateway. You can set the outputs to be high or low to drive an external relay. The Relay Control Outputs can continuously provide up to 50 mA at 12 volts DC each. Control the EKM-Switch120 directly, or control lights, motors, entire buildings, implement Demand Response, Load Shedding, etc. via relay control. The Relay Control Outputs can also be set to go ON or OFF from 1 to 9999 seconds. These outputs can also be controlled via EKM Push3 triggering. The real-time state of the outputs can also be polled via RS485. The outputs can also be used to power an external device (Wireless 485Bee Module, sensors, etc). Relays can be controlled online when reading the meter with the EKM Push3 data system either manually, via the API, or using triggers, or locally when reading the meter with a USB Converter.
The Omnimeter Pulse is also great option for solar Net Metering. In addition to Total and Reverse kWh, that all of our Omnimeter models provide, these meters also provide the direction of current in real time. This makes it possible to know, in real time, if you are generating more power than you are consuming, and whether you are sending or pulling power, to or from the grid. Also, because it is certified to ANSI standards, it is possible to receive SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Certificates) with this meter.
This meter uses our full range of compact Current Transformers (it cannot meter electricity with out at least one CT, but can be used as just a pulse counter if you do not have CTs). The CT ratio can be set internally to work with up to 5000 amp CTs (no multiplier needed).

I purchased a V4 meter to measure power of a split phase 120/240V. My house has an energy storage system installed so I can flow power back to grid. I notice that the total RMS_Watts_Tot is always a sum of RMS_Watts_Ln_1 and RMS_Watts_Ln_2 regardless of current direction State_Watts_Dir (1,4 or 7). How do we use EKM info to determine the total power watt direction for split phase120V/240V?
If you have an Omnimeter Pulse v.4 and you use the EKM Dash software or the EKM Push system, the Net Watts on each line and Total Net Watts are already provided for you. If you want to use your own software, you can calculate Net Watts on your own. We calculate Net Watts on each line and Total Net Watts from the data provided by the Omnimeter Pulse v.4. Net Watts on each line is calculated by taking the Watts on each line and applying the direction of current to that line. The direction of current bitmap is on page 2 here. Calculating the Total Net Watts would use this formula: Total Net Watts = Net Watts Line 1 + Net Watts Line 2 + Net Watts Line 3

I have two 220V loads and I want measure total kWh across both. Is that possible with this unit (v.4)? If possible, how would the wiring/CTs be arranged?
If both loads use the same phases (same voltages) then it is possible to meter both with one meter. You can do this by installing CTs on the wires going to each load an then running the CT leads to the same ports on the meter, for each phase. Or you can pass multiple wires through the CTs, provided that all of the wires going through each CT are on the same phase. In these cases the amperage is aggregated to give you a single total for both loads.

I have approximately 5 separate loads off the same Electrical Service that I would like to track metering on do you have a single meter that will work??
Our v.4 Omnimeters can meter up to three separate loads up to 120V. This meter provides a cumulative Total kWh as well as kWh on each line separately. If the loads you're trying to meter are 110v or 120v then you could meter the 5 loads with two of these meters. You would also need one current transformer per load, or up to three per Omnimeter.

Hi there, I noticed that the UL listed meters come with a 10yr warranty. They do not seem to be compatible with European voltages however - eg 240Vac phase to neutral, or 415Vac phase to phase. Is there a meter that I can purchase with a 10 yr warranty that is also compatible with the higher voltages???
We don't currently have a UL Listed meter that is certified for voltages above 240V. We are currently working on a new meter model that will be able to handle up to 600V systems and our aspiration is to have it UL Listed up to at least 480V. This meter will also have a 10 year warranty. We don't have a definitive timeline for this meter but are hopeful that it will be available some time in mid 2017. I'm looking for a device that can recorded KwH for different time periods, such as on and off peak times. Can this unit do this?
All of our Omnimeter models have Time Of Use (TOU) capability. You can set the TOU periods for up to four tariff periods. This will give you separate kWh values for each time period you set up. To set the TOU periods you need to be reading the meter directly with a USB Converter and our EKM Dash software.

Once the TOU settings are made then you can read the meter(s) with our EKM Push system if you wish. -
Hi, I've got a EKM Omnimeter Pulse UL v.4 connected to a stainless steel pulse output water meter and an external 110v relay. I'd like to turn on a relay (controls a pump) after a specified number of pulses for say 10 seconds. I can figure out how to count pulses, and I can figure out how to turn on/off a relay from DASH for s specified period of time, but I can not see how to have the pulse count trigger the relay. Thanks
At this point EKM Dash isn't capable of triggering a relay. Triggers can only send an email based on a defined parameter. However, we are planning to add triggered relay control at some point relatively soon. Stay tuned.

I am looking to meter 120/240 VAC on some applications and 12/24 VDC on other applications for my system, but I did not see any meters that mentioned 12/24 VDC metering as an option. Also, I wanted to learn more about controlling and programming the relay outputs, and did not find enough information on that. Thanks.
The Omnimeter Pulse v.4 UL will work well for metering your 120/240 volt application. We do not carry a Direct Current (DC) meter at this point. But if you send us an email, we can let you know if we have a DC meter in the future. We are considering developing a DC meter, so let us know what features you would like to have included in the design. The Omnimeter Pulse v.4 has 2 controllable outputs. The meter itself cannot be programmed. You can control the meter outputs over the web using the EKM Push3 gateway (via either the meter web UI, or with your own software via the cloud API), or locally using the EKM Dash software and a USB Converter. In both cases you can turn the outputs ON or OFF, or set the outputs to ON for 1-9999 seconds, or OFF for 1-99999 seconds.

Does this work with your water meters also?
Yes the Omnimeter Pulse v.4 UL is designed to count the pulses from our water meters and gas meters. It can count pulses from up to 3 separate pulse output water meters or gas meters. For each pulse output from your water meter and gas meter, the Omnimeter increments one of its 3 pulse counters. If you then connect your Omnimeter Pulse v.4 to either our EKM Push system or your EKM Dash software you can then track these pulses over time.
With the EKM Push you can also send data to encompass.io to create reports and bills, or you can setup triggers to alert you to leaks or to control valves remotely.

I have 4 seperate loads for One Customer. Can I combine the meters to send one bill?
Using 4 separate meters, all wired to the EKM Push3, you can group them together online in encompass.io and create a bill for that group.
