EKM Reader
Our user-friendly software allows you to read meters which are connected to your computer, whether it be a PC, Linux box, or a Mac running OS X, and whether the meter is connected directly with one of our USB to RS-485 or RS-232 to RS-485 converters, or over a network or over the internet with the iSerial TCP/IP to Serial Converter. From this application you can, read all of the meter parameters, set meter numbers (addresses), set passwords, reset demand to zero, and, with the optional added functionality of the paid version, have meter usage logged to a file and have monthly reports e-mailed to individual users or formatted for printing and mailing.

The free version of the EKM Reader allows you to remotely read your meters. You can read from 1 to 256 meters on each device and can have up to 30 devices. Depending on which meter you have, you can remotely read Total kWh, Reverse kWh (for solar), Power (watts), Maximum Demand, Instantaneous Voltage (on L1, L2, and 3), Instantaneous Amperage (on L1, L2, and 3), Power Factor, and Pulse Counts.
EKM Reader v.3 : Our latest release
Download the free version of EKM Reader, v.3 This is a rebuild of our EKM Reader software. It should be much more stable, and have better abilities to read a variety of meters. It will work with both our v.2 and v.3 meters. The software and included files are pre-configured to read v.2 test meters here at EKM Metering. For reading your own meters, just make the appropriate preferences and other configuration changes.
Full Version
The FULL VERSION provides logging of meter reads to tab-delimited or .csv files. It also generates automatic monthly reports emailed to individual meter users or formatted for mailing to users’ shipping addresses.
V.2 and V.3 Smart Meters and V.3 software provide greatly expanded capability. Meter reads give Total kWh, Reverse kWh and Maximum Demand, plus Instantaneous Current, Voltage, Power, and Power Factor. The PAID VERSION of EKM Reader v.2 also gives access to 6 months of monthly records stored on board the meter, including 4 Time-of-Use Rates for 4 Daily Time Periods and 6 Seasons.
