Our EKM-15IDS-N is a revenue grade kWh smart submeter. It is great for metering any 120 volt load to a high accuracy required for billing purposes or just for tracking usage. This meter uses the very powerful industrial grade RS-485 communications. It is also very reliable and easy to install. This is the 120 volt version of our EKM-25IDS-N which is a 120/240 volt 3-wire meter.
RS-485 communications allows you to get much more data out of the meter. It will be more reliable and accurate than other forms of meter data, such as pulse output. You can connect up to 256 of these meters daisy chained together on up to 4000 feet of wire. This string of meters can then be connected to one of our converters for reading the meters with a computer, over the internet or LAN, USB, or Serial Ports.

Compact, very easy to install design. Simple DIN-rail mounting. Wires pass through 3/8+" diameter tubes in the meter body--Will accept some (but not all) #2AWG insulated wire. The only electrical connection is made by 2 small screws which penetrate the wire insulation and pick up power for the meter and give the meter it's voltage reference. This meter draws less than 1 watt.
Non-resettable LCD display. Usage data is stored even if the meter loses power for 10 years. Tamper-proof and meter sealable.

Most commonly a white neutral and a black or red hot wire, 110V to 126V between them. Very voltage tolerant--the meters will tolerate voltages from 84V to 156V!!
